Welch Allyn, a leading manufacturer of frontline medical products and solutions, today introduced a lightweight electrocardiograph that is connectivity-ready and designed for use in settings where flexibility and efficiency are of utmost importance.  Now available in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Latin America, the Welch Allyn CP 50^TM ECG has an intuitive design and functionality and offers the speed and power of a fully-featured ECG in a compact, portable size.  In addition to administering patient tests at the push of a button, the device can interface with the Welch Allyn CardioPerfect^TM Workstation Software to connect patient data to an electronic health record (EHR), health information system (HIS), over the Internet, or through e-mail.

John Moran, vice president of corporate distribution at Welch Allyn and mentor to many in the medical device industry, has been named the 2010 inductee into the Medical Distribution Hall of Fame by Repertoire magazine, a leading healthcare distribution publication.  Moran is the seventeenth overall member of the Hall of Fame and the fourth from Welch Allyn, a leading medical device manufacturer headquartered in Skaneateles Falls, NY.

Product donations part of collaborative worldwide goodwill program 

Heart to Heart International Inc., one of America's most efficient charities, is partnering with medical-device company Welch Allyn to provide medical instruments to disaster relief efforts around the world.  Most recently, Heart to Heart has utilized Welch Allyn products, including stethoscopes, diagnostic sets and blood pressure gauges/cuffs, in its shipments of "Ready Relief Boxes" and Medical Surge Modules as part of the broader medical response in Haiti.  In addition to matching all employee donations to the Haiti relief effort, Welch Allyn has also set up a Haiti relief donation page on its public website for visitors who wish to donate directly to the humanitarian organization.

Eric Allyn, great grandson of Welch Allyn co-founder William Noah Allyn, has been elected to serve a three-year term on the Board of Governors of Healthcare Trustees of New York State (HTNYS). HTNYS is a not-for-profit membership organization headquartered in Albany, NY that is dedicated to strengthening the governance of the state's nonprofit and public healthcare facilities. It is governed by a board of 25 trustees from health care facilities across the state and is an affiliate of the Healthcare Association of New York State.
